Here is a tutorial on how to setup routers for your wi-tribe.We will use your router as an access point for the wi-tribe modem. In this setup, The wi-tribe will be the one to provide ip addresses and the router will be used as a wireless connection point. Thus, if you have to port forward any ip address, you have to put it on the Port Forward setting of your modem.
  1. First, configure your router.Setup all the settings needed.Like, Wireless Settings(SSID, Wireless Channel) and Wireless Security(Pass-key).
  2. Disable Use Router as DHCP Server in LAN Setup if you are using Neatgear JWNR2000. Now, in this portion, disabling dhcp server depends on your router.Like, for DLink DIR-600, you just have to enable Access Point Mode and thats it.
  3. For other routers, Read your routers' manual on how to disable dhcp server or to have them as access points.
  4. Connect the patch cable of your modem to any of the Four(4) Ports of the router.and if you are wired, just connect your cable to other three ports that was left and wait until you are connected.

CCTV Remote Viewing: Network testing and troubleshooting

Your done with dvr setup and configured router port forwarding and dmz(Demilitarized Zone). We now have to test your network. try to ping your dvr (e.g. ping 192.168.2.10), if you are able to ping it, then thats great, you have done it well locally. now for the host (e.g. mydvr.dyndns.org), tell a friend to try to ping your web ip address or your hostname. if he's able to ping them, your network is propery configured. But if not, try to see if you already configured the dmz or port forwarding of your router.

Here are few other reasons your service may not resolve correctly:

    * Typo: The simplest and most common problem is a typo. Double- and triple-check your spelling to make sure you are not transposing a letter or putting the wrong TLD (e.g. .net instead of .org).
    * Service is still in cart: Dynamic DNS hosts are placed in your shopping cart when you click the Create Host button. You must complete checkout to activate the hosts.
    * Service has not been created: When a new account is created, it does not contain any hosts. You need to add a hostname to begin using the service.

HDD REGENERATOR: Save and secure your hard disk files

We dont want to see our computers not booting in windows, do we? and we dont want to lose our files either. It is really frustrating that your trying to access your files but the thing is you cannot open them. The saddest part is that you cant open your drives too. how is that happen?

Well, there are lot of factors that can cause a hard drive to fail and they are almost all preventable if you know how to take good care of your hard drive and your computer as well. Anyway, probably the biggest cause of hard drive failure could be the Bad Sector. A bad sector is a sector on a computer's disk drive or flash memory that cannot be used due to permanent damage (or an OS inability to successfully access it), such as physical damage to the disk surface or failed flash memory transistors. It is usually detected by a disk utility software such as CHKDSK or SCANDISK on Microsoft systems, or badblocks on Unix-like systems. When found, these programs may mark the sectors unusable (all file systems contain provision for bad-sector marks) and the operating system skips them in the future.(wikipedia)

Good thing there is HBCD, we've been using this tool and so far, it does not disappoint us. HDD Regenerator is a unique program in hbcd for regeneration of physically damaged hard disk drives. It does not hide bad sectors, it really restores them. It can repair damaged hard disks without affecting or changing existing data. As a result, previously unreadable files and drives are recovered.

CCTV Remote Viewing: DVR NETWORK CONFIGURATION

Having a CCTV surveillance camera today is a must for every offices, home and other businesses infrastructure..but being able to view them through any various PDA phones like Android phones, BlackBerry phones, iPhone, iPod, iPad, Windows Mobile phones and laptops is what we need in this very fast pace world.

Now if you already had a CCTV installed in your area, then thats great! But the first thing you really need to consider is that your DVR( Digital Video Recorder) should or must be Internet capable or at least should have a LAN Port.Through that port youll be able to connect to the router or modem which will make your DVR accessible to your gadgets.

Second, you have to configure your dvrs' network setup.

DVR Network Configuration:

Using a modem:
Adjust the DHCP mode Setup to whatever your ISP provider provided you. for example,
  • if you are using DHCP or automatically obtained ip address. select DHCP.
  • if you are using STATIC IP, just assign your intenal ip address for the dvr and assign the gateway and primary address from your modem.( you can skip creating account at dyndns.com)

Use menu on DVR to assign internal IP and gateway and port number. You have to take note of the port number you have entered coz it will be used on Port Forwarding.

Using a router:

Look for Gateway. If the Gateway is 192.168.1.1, then you can make the DVR's IP anything from 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.255

Input the ip address to DMZ(demilitarized zone) or port forwarding.

So we have now an installed cameras, an Internet Capable DVR, and a router or modem. Now where in for Creating an account at www.dyndns.com.
