Dlink DAP-1360: Repeater Mode Configuration

In Repeater mode, the DAP-1360 increases the range of your wireless network by extending the wireless coverage of another AP or wireless router. The APs and wireless router (if used) must be within range of each other. Make sure that all clients, APs, and the wireless router all use the same SSID (wireless network name), channel, and security settings.
Assuming that you will manually configure your dap-1360 as a repeater.
  1. Enter the Device Name of the AP and click next. (default is dlinkap).
  2. Select Repeater from the drop down menu.
  3. If you want to change the admin password, enter a new password and click next.
  4. Select Manual configuration to setup your network manually.
  5. Enter the Network name (SSID) of the network or you could use Site Survey to search for your wireless network you want to connect to.
  6. Find your access point from the list, and click connect.
  7. Choose which Security Mode you want to use.
  8. Enter your preferred wireless security password. click Next to complete the setup.
  9. Click finish.

DLink DAP-1360: Access Point Configuration

Overview: The Wireless N Access Point (DAP-1360) enables you to create a new wireless network or simply extend your existing wireless network coverage.Though, it uses several different modes, we will be tackling more on Access Point configuration in this topic.

Configuration:
  1. Connect Patch cord to the LAN Port of DAP-1360, and put the other end on your Laptop or Desktop.Or you can connect to it thru WiFi. You may have to temporarily set your IP Address to static. (e.g. 192.168.0.51)
  2. Run a web browser, and type in the default IP address 192.168.0.50.
  3. In the User Name field, type in the default name admin, Leave the password field blank.
  4. Once you have logged in, click Wireless Setup in the left pane.
  5. Select Access Point as the wireless mode.
  6. Change the default Network Name (SSID) to your preferred name.
  7. Disable the Auto Channel Selection if you want to change the default ( Channel 6) channel.
  8. Go to Security , select you preferred security encryption and type in your password.
  9. Click Save Settings.
